Come, let us reason together

-- in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

When Teenagers Talk
Wild Oats  And Harvest

Where was I? --- What was I doing there? --- And how did I get there? --- I guessed that I got there after the big noise. But the answers to the other questions I didn’t know.

I timidly turned to my left and saw nothing but people, as far as my eye could see. --- I turned to my right and there too were oceans of people, all quiet, all with the most horrible look in their eyes.  I then turned quietly around. I seemed to be between two enormous clouds, one for the ceiling and one for the floor. In front of me there was a desk like structure towering so high that I could not see who or what was behind it, but I did not have to see, I knew.

On one side of me was my father. He looked so peaceful and his eyes were warm and happy. On the other side of me there was my mother whose bluish-grey eyes stared pleasantly at that desk. I glanced over my shoulder and saw my sisters. I saw my grandmother and I wanted to cry, “Granny, O Granny, I thought you were dead!”  But it would have broken the silence.  I quickly saw that   around me in a circle was my immediate family and then my other relatives in another circle, and then my closest friends, and then all the people I had ever known were circled around me and were watching me.

There was a sharp noise like that of a trumpet. A book was opened and the cover fell with a thud to the top of the desk.  And then another book was opened, which is the book of life.  At least I wasn’t first, I didn’t want to be first.  Although thousands of people went before me, it still seemed like I was first.

Even those were weeping and screaming now became silent.  A voice from the top of the desk came like thunder saying, “Brenda Fulmer.”  It echoed again, and again, and again.  A thousand daggers seemed to have torn through my stomach, I knew it was my turn.  Again the voice from the top of the desk spoke, but this time it was still and small.  It said, “Brenda Fulmer of the sixteenth generation of Fulmers, step forward.”  I fell to my knees and began to cry, “Forgive me! God! God! God! O please forgive me!”  The voice said, “Silence.”  And on a giant movie screen all my thoughts were projected.  The people who knew me were horrified. Some said with great distain, “She thought that!?  And others uttered shocked “ooos and ahs”  I was not really embarrassed.  This was much more serious for mere school girl blushes.  Everyone became silent.

I began to shake violently and by then I was soaked with a cold sweat.  The voice spoke, this time like thunder with anger and disgust, “Depart from Me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels!”  I fell on my face and began to claw and bite myself and screamed again and again, “Have mercy! O my God I love thee! Have mercy. God, God!”

Two men clothed in white with eyes like fire came to me. They took my arms and lifted me up.  I was still screaming.  I turned and looked at my family. They didn’t look sad, but repulsed!  How wretched is the sight of a damned person!

The men led me to the left side.  I couldn’t cry and I couldn’t scream.  I just stood there among the thousands; as I stood there in the midst of all the weeping, cursing, biting, screaming throng, I began to think of all the opportunities I had been given in life that could have put me on the right side, the blessed side, and I began to cry all the more.

After a while some of the men in white clothes opened two doors from the bottom of the cloud.  All of us on the left side were herded, like cattle, through the two doors and down a great ramp. And there we stood in this black pit.  We all pushed and squeezed to get as close as we could to the ramp so we could get one last look at the pure light.

A sudden hush fell on the ocean of people.  Every muscle of my body tensed and again I was shaking uncontrollably.  In the opening at the top of the ramp was God’s face!  It was brighter than the light of a million furnaces and it glowed with love.  It was so pure that some could not behold it and fell prostrate on their face.  We stood spell bound.  And then the horror of horrors!  The climax of all tortures!  God turned His face away forever!

Then the great doors were shut and all was darkness, and how black was that darkness.  The multitude wailed a wail that shook the very foundations of hell.  Then with one great explosion the fires of hell were ignited.

The fire, the brimstone, and the mental anguish were fused inseparably into this hellish nightmare.  I call on God to relieve my pain;  but there is no God to hear, He has turned His face away.  And I remember.  If only I could not remember!

I remember my life and all the opportunities I had to do good and love and obey my dear God.        I remember my loving home life and the members of my family who are now around God‘s throne.    I remember all the wonderful sermons I heard and fluffed off.  And I remember the Day of Judgment, that fateful day when I was sent to this place of torment.  That was yesterday, or was it today?  Or was it ten thousand years ago?  There’s no time here, only misery.

Oh, if only God would say, “Burn in hell one day and then come to heaven and join the blessed.”  Or if He would say, “Burn one million years and then it will all be over.”  O, only if there was an end to this terrible torment.  Oh, God, Oh Satan, I implore you!  Let this body be burned up! Let my soul be disintegrated!

O, if only these everlasting disgusting worms would quit eating away at my body for just one minute!  I bite and claw myself but no blood comes forth.  I curse and scream, but to no avail.  I pray, but God will not hear.   O my wretched soul!

Why o why did the world have to end while I was so young?  I was only trying to sow my wild oats.

The following Scripture references and notes offered by Earl Wilburn

It must be noted that the story depicted above is obviously fictional, due to the simple fact that the Judgment day of the Lord has not come about yet, and will not come until the Father in heaven deems it so. The young lady named “Brenda” is a fictitious name, but it could just as well have been YOUR name if you happen to be sowing your wild oats in rebellion not only to your loving parents, but also to your loving Father in heaven who gave His Son for you. The Bible says in (Jn. 3:16-18);    --- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. --- For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. --- He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

(Mt. 25:31-34 and 41); --- “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. --- All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; --- and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. --- Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” --- (Vs. 41) continues; --- “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.”

(Rev. 20:11-15); --- “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. --- And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. --- And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. --- Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire This is the second death, the lake of fire. --- And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Jesus declares; --- “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him in the last day.” (Jn. 12:48)

(Rom. 14:11-12); --- “For it is written,
‘AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD.’ --- So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.”
(2 Thess.  1:6-9); --- “For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, --- and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, --- dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. --- These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.”
(2 Pet. 3:7-11); --- “But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. --- But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. --- The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. --- But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. --- Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

(1 Chron. 28:9); --- “--for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.”
(Heb. 4:12-13); --- “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. --- And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”

(Mt. 22:11-14); --- “But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, --- and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And the man was speechless. --- Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' --- "For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Our Lord Jesus describes Hell as a place; --- “Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.(Mk. 9:48)

Concerning those who have sinned (and not repented), Job says; --- “A mother will forget him;
The worm feeds sweetly till he is no longer remembered.” (Job 24:20)

The Lord Jesus was lamenting over the city of Jerusalem concerning it’s coming destruction, and we can almost see the tears in His eyes when He cries; ---“How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.”  (Mt. 23:37)
